چکیده

Introduction Software inspection is an industry-proven process for eliminating defects and reducing development costs in complex systems. Software inspections can identify and eliminate approximately 80 percent of all software defects during development. When inspections are combined with normal testing practices, defects in fielded software can be reduced by a factor of 10. By reducing the amount of rework typically experienced in development, inspections increase productivity and reduce costs and schedules. Cost and schedule reductions for typical applications are on the order of 30 percent.

Investigating the Quality of Work Inspection Software of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare in Iran Based on Kerman Data: A Descriptive Study

Background and Objectives: Many preventable occupational accidents occur annually in the world. Almost 2228 work accidents occurred in Kerman province from 2012 to 2016. Reports of occupational accidents are recorded in the Work Inspection Software (WIS) by inspectors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality of WIS of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare in I...

Assessing Predictors of Software Defects

OVERVIEW: When learning defect detectors from static code measures, NaiveBayes learners are better than entrophy-based decision-tree learners. Also, accuracy is not a useful way to assess those detectors. Further, those learners need no more than 200-300 examples to learn adequate detectors, especially when the data has been heavily stratified; i.e. divided up into sub-sub-sub systems (and by “...

Software inspection - a blend of discipline and flexibility

Software engineering staff understand software inspection as a rather formal and disciplined process in general. Unfortunately this formality also detracts from its popularity among software practitioners. If we could add flexibility in the form of virtual meetings, for example, we could remove the barriers to including inspection in the development process. The present paper discusses alternat...
